MIAN is the creation of James Beard Award-nominated Chef Tony Xu, who gained culinary fame with his first restaurant, Chengdu Taste, in the San Gabriel Valley in 2013. Following a pivotal review from the late Los Angeles Times restaurant critic Jonathan Gold, Chengdu Taste transformed from a local favorite to a bustling destination for diners. Xu is credited with popularizing and broadening the understanding of Sichuan-style cuisine in Southern California.
